Seller Rules

Terms of use

Last updated September 11, 2026. Short, because the product is simple.

What this is

Seller Rules is a free newsletter and website that reports government actions affecting online sellers. Each claim is matched by software to a sentence in the public government document it came from, and the document is linked. By reading the site or subscribing, you agree to these terms.

Information, not advice

  • Nothing here is legal, tax, customs, or financial advice, and reading it does not create any professional relationship. Rules change, agencies amend documents, and a summary is never the document. Read the linked source before you act, and talk to a licensed customs broker, lawyer, or accountant about your own situation.
  • We work hard to get it right and we re-check every quoted sentence against the live document before an issue goes out, but we make no warranty that anything is complete, current, or fits your case. The service is provided as is.
  • To the fullest extent the law allows, Seller Rules and its author are not liable for any loss, including duties, fees, penalties, lost sales, or account actions, that follows from relying on the newsletter or the site.

Using the content

  • Quoted government text is in the public domain. Our own writing (headlines, summaries, the who, cost, and do-this-now lines) belongs to Seller Rules. You may quote it, forward issues, and link to any page, with a mention of the source. You may not republish issues wholesale, sell them, or present them as your own work.
  • Do not scrape the site at a rate that burdens it, submit addresses you do not own to the subscribe form, or try to reach the private editorial pages.

Subscriptions

Subscribing is free and can be ended at any time with the link in every issue or on the unsubscribe page. How your address is handled is described in the privacy page. If an issue ever includes a sponsored placement, it is labeled as one.

Links to other sites

Government pages, marketplace policy pages, and other links open sites we do not control. Their terms and privacy practices are their own.

Changes and contact

These terms may change; the date at the top changes with them, and continuing to read or subscribe after that is acceptance. United States law applies. Questions go to sam@sellerrules.com.
