CBP will void importer numbers with inaccurate Form 5106 data from September 18

Implementing Executive Order 14411, CBP is reviewing every importer of record's Form 5106 and, from September 18, 2026, will void the IOR number of any importer whose physical address, email, phone, or EIN is inaccurate, incomplete, or belongs to someone else, which stops that importer from making entry.

What the document says

Who does this affect?: Every importer of record, especially sellers whose broker or forwarder filled in the form, brands registered at a registered agent, mailbox, or 3PL address, and foreign sellers importing into the US.
What it costs: No fee. The cost of getting it wrong is a voided importer number and every shipment stuck until CBP reinstates it; the notice gives no reinstatement timeline.
Do this now: Before September 18, have your broker pull the Form 5106 on file and confirm the physical address is your real location (a home address is allowed), the email and phone are yours and not the broker's, and the EIN matches the IRS; correct it through ABI or your Center now, because a voided IOR number stops every shipment until CBP reinstates it.
